Sustainable Development Definition
Change Leadership by Linda Holbeche, Change for Sustainable High Performance focuses on both managing change-as a project-and strategic change management-the development of an organization's ability to achieve sustainable high performance. In many cases, the one destroys the other. Using research data, the author's definition of a high performance organization includes being a great place to work; developing a culture, which is conducive to innovation and knowledge creation; being able to operate across organizational boundaries; being a values-based organization. Having an appropriate organizational design and leadership are only two of the components of a high performance organization. Having flexibility built in to the organization is perhaps the key factor in achieving sustainable high performance. Change leaders at any level will need to be able to understand the elements at work in any change process, and to use judgement about the style of leadership required to give the change effort the best chance of success. Change Leadership is intended to provide an overview of the elements that need to be considered and insights into how to maximize the chances of successful change.
